How much exercise do we need to impact our mood?

I bet it’s not as near as much as what you think. Even just a small change in physical activity can make a difference in happiness.

Several studies found that happiness levels were the same whether people exercised 150-300 minutes a week, or more than 300 minutes a week.

The point here is that people get this all or nothing mentality. If you can hit the gym 4-5 times per week for an hour & if you have the diet and sleep in place to recover then fantastic! But, if you get in 150 mins total for the week you’ll still see the same benefits in happiness!

The review of observational studies found that compared to inactive people, the odds ratio of being happy was 20-52% higher for people who were active.

So, if you can only get in a few workouts here and there then DO IT! It’s way more beneficial than getting in ZERO workouts!
