5 Biggest Nutrition Myths-Myth 5!

5 Biggest Nutrition Myths-Myth 5!

Natural foods are always better than supplements. I’m sure you’ve heard before that you should always get everything you need from Whole Foods and that its the healthier route when it comes to vitamins and minerals.

Unfortunately, the word natural is used so much anymore that it is always associated with being a good thing.

Don’t misunderstand me. I am not telling you that you shouldn’t get as much quality vitamins and minerals you can from your food. But, I am saying there are many instances when using supplementation can be more beneficial than trying to get everything from your food.

Just one example would be vitamin K. Most food sources are vitamin K1 and are very hard to absorb. Plus, most of vitamin K1 has to be converted into vitamin K2 based on different things. This is just one example of where it might be easier to supplement with a high-quality vitamin K2 if that is something that you need in your diet.

So, supplementation does not have to be a bad thing. And there are multiple instances based on people‘s lifestyles and their digestive system where it would be more beneficial to use supplementation.

Don’t be afraid to use supplementation especially in different vitamins and minerals. Just make sure what you are getting is a quality supplement without any extra additives, fillers, or excipients.
